Pretoria East is a beautiful, quiet eastern suburb of Pretoria which lies in a highly accessible yet lovely part of the city and where properties boast bordering green lawns and lavish gardens.

The Tannery Industrial Park was initially known as The Tannery and is situated next to the Silverton Station in Pretoria. The Tannery started out in 1904 as an animal hide tanning facility but had to be closed down in 1986 because of its smell. Lydiana, an area south and east from Silverton Ridge, consisted primarily of farms namely the Meyers’ farm and Murrays’ farm which ultimately evolved into the Pretoria suburbs of. Meyerspark (1949) and Murrayfield (1960). Murrayfield and Meyerspark are small typical South African suburbs east of Pretoria in the Greater Pretoria Region of the Gauteng Province of South Africa with the CSIR Conference Centre and the famous Rugby Stadium Loftus Versveld in close proximity. Murrayfield and Meyerspark lie almost midway between the suburbs of Silverton, Lynnwood and Wilgers, on the N4 east of the centre of Pretoria. The WaterMeyer Park shopping centre is close by and you’re not that far from the Grove Mall, Lynnwood Lane, Willow Way, Willows Crossing, Lynnridge Mall, Lynnwood Bridge, Glenfair and Menlyn Park shopping centre, Silverwater Crossing and Uitkyk Meat Market.
The Pretoria East region has countless entertainment, gardens and parks for example the Pretoria National Botanical Gardens, Skuilkrans Kopje, Meyerspark Bird Sanctuary, Moreleta Spruit walking trail, Voortrekker Park and the Argentia Park. The Pretoria National Botanical Garden was established in 1946. This oasis has approximately 76 hectares of gardens and more than 198 bird species and a number of reptiles. Familiar medical facilities in the Pretoria East region are Wilgers Hospital, Medicross and Silverton Clinic. Excellent education systems are in place at our schools namely Silverton Primary, Silverton High School, Meyerspark Primary, Wilgers High School, Willowridge High School, Skuilkrans Primary, Christian Brothers College, Cornerstone College, St Paulus Primary, Lynnwood Ridge Primary, Deutsche Schule Pretoria and La Montagne Primary. Various Sport for example Rugby, soccer, tennis, bowling, squash, and recreation facilities at CSIR Running Club, Pretoria Old Motor Club, Silverton Recreation Centre are hugely supported in the Pretoria East area. Pretoria East home to FORD, SANRAL, SAFCOL, SPCA and Cotton SA as well as other known departments like Council for Geosciences, Department of Education, Department of Home Affairs (Head Office), SAPS Forensic Science Laboratory, SAPS Logistics & the Agricultural Research Council (ARC).
